INCIDENT: VC 2800.2(A): EVADING A PEACE OFFICER WITH DISREGARD FOR PUBLIC SAFETY, VC 12500(A): DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE, VC 23152(B): DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
LOCATION: Camp Rock Road/ Rabbit Springs Road, Lucerne Valley
SUSPECT: Victor Alfonzo, 29 years-old, resident of Lucerne Valley
SUMMARY: On Sunday, October 8, 2023, at 12:55 a.m., Deputies J. Guzman and X. Garcia attempted to stop a 2001 Chevy truck for expired registration. The vehicle failed to yield and fled from deputies. The driver, later identified as Victor Alfonzo, drove at high rates of speed, entering oncoming lanes of traffic, and with complete disregard for public safety. Alonzo eventually stopped the vehicle and was arrested without incident.
Alfonzo was booked at High Desert Detention Center for evading a peace officer, driving under the influence, and driving without a license. He is being held in lieu of $110,000.00 bail. Alfonzo was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on September 24, 2023, for driving under the influence.
