SUSPECT(S): Melissa Miller Palacios, 38-Years-Old, Resident of Needles, CA

SUMMARY: On Monday, October 9, 2023, at approximately 5:22 p.m., deputies assigned to Colorado River Station in Needles responded to a call regarding an alleged threat involving a student and an employee of the Needles Unified School District.
After further investigation, it was determined that Melissa Miller Palacios was in violation of misdemeanor PC 273A(b) - Willful Cruelty to a Child. Miller Palacios was consequently arrested, issued a citation, and later released from custody with a future court date. This investigation is on-going.
