The Fair Lawn Police Department maintains an ever vigilant posture to protect all members of our community. We work daily with our County, State and Federal Law Enforcement partners who analyze the current environment and provide intelligence products and other resources. In response to world events, we have instituted an increased patrol presence. Some of this increase you will see, and some you will not. For operational security, the details of our security plans are not publicly disclosed. We have an excellent relationship with and are in constant contact with representatives from our schools, religious and business communities.
    
For our religious community, consider the following:
-The power of "Hello". Have a greeter outside your establishment who knows your members, and is empowered to limit access and call for assistance if needed.
-Walk to services in groups. We recognize cellular phones are not used on the Sabbath, but consider having a member of your group having a cellular phone in do not disturb mode, but able to call in something suspicious or make a call for help. 
 
Finally, if you see something, say something. We are available 24/7. Call 201-796-1400 or 9-1-1. We respond to calls for service. It's difficult to verify the authenticity or veracity of chats or posts on social media channels.
 
If we all work together we can help each other stay safe.
