On Thursday October 12, 2023 at approximately 7:05 p.m. Harper Woods Police Officers responded to the area of E. Vernier and Beaconsfield on the report of a single vehicle accident. Officers discovered the occupant(s) of the vehicle had fled and there were bullet holes in the driver door. Officers determined the 19 year old detroit resident driver/victim had been shot in the ankle and buttocks and made his own arrangements to be transported to a local hospital. There were no other occupants of the vehicle other than the driver/victim who is listed in stable condition.
The suspect vehicle is descibed as a black 2012-2015 Chevy Cruze. Detectives believe the shooting stems from an earlier incident in another city. Detectives continue to investigate which includes determining the venue of the shooting.
