INCIDENT: P.C. 664/187 ATTEMPTED MURDER
LOCATION: 7400 BLOCK OF CHEROKEE TRAIL, YUCCA VALLEY
SUSPECT(S): SAM MADDOX, 38-YEAR-OLD RESIDENT OF YUCCA VALLEY
VICTIM(S): CONFIDENTIAL
SUMMARY: On October 6, 2023, at approximately 12:06 P.M., deputies assigned to the Morongo Basin Station responded to the Hi-Desert Medical Center, in the community of Joshua Tree, for a woman who was a victim of an assault.
Deputies contacted the victim who stated her son attempted to kill her by strangling her to the point where she could not breathe and lost consciousness. During the investigation, deputies found corroborating evidence of the attack and identified the suspect as Sam Maddox, the victim's adult son.
Maddox was located and arrested for PC 664/187, Attempted Murder. Maddox was booked into West Valley Detention Center with a bail set at $1,000,000.
