Attempted Homicide Arrest 
On October 15, 2023 at approximately 4:11 a.m. Janesville Police Department Officers were dispatched to 2328 Center Ave. for a report of shots fired. Upon further investigation it was found to be related to a domestic disturbance.
The facts and circumstances of the investigation indicate the alleged suspect, Sergio A. Morales Jr., fired multiple rounds from a handgun at the victim. The victim left 2328 Center Avenue and was followed by Morales to the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and South Chatham Street where additional shots were fired. As officers arrived at this location Morales fled in his vehicle leading officers on a 14 mile pursuit throughout the City of Janesville. Ultimately, Morales’ vehicle was immobilized using a pursuit intervention technique and he was taken into custody on Ruger Ave. near the I-39 overpass.
The Janesville Police department would like to express appreciation and gratitude to the citizens of the City of Janesville for their continued support and assistance during this investigation.
Morales was transported to the Rock County Jail where he is being held pending his initial court appearance.
