Advisory
On 10/14/23 at 10:10pm, a Janesville Officer observed a disturbance occurring in the parking lot of 209 W. Milwaukee St, Riley’s Sports Bar and Grill. While on scene, the officer heard a gunshot which came from a vehicle leaving the parking lot. The officer observed a male later identified as Erik Heise get out from a passenger seat in the vehicle and start walking away. The officer attempted to stop Heise who began running and drew the firearm from a holster. The firearm was dropped by Heise and he continued running from the officer and he jumped into the Rock River just east of Festival Street. With the assistance of the Janesville Fire Department boat, Heise was taken into custody, he was not injured. No one was injured in the incident. The firearm was recovered. Heise was held at the jail on the following charges:
