Police Investigating October 13 Single Vehicle Accident as a Homicide
What Fairfield Police initially thought was a single vehicle accident, is now being investigated as a homicide.
On October 13 at around 8:33 am, Dispatch received a call regarding a truck off the road near Cement Hill, west of Peabody Road. It appeared the vehicle had veered off the road sometime overnight and hit several structures before stopping. The truck’s driver, a 44-year-old man from Oakland, was ejected from the vehicle and found deceased at the scene. Due to its hidden location, the truck was not discovered until morning.
The Fairfield Police Traffic Unit responded, as did the Solano County Coroner’s Office. Although preliminary evidence suggested a traffic accident had occurred, the autopsy later confirmed a bullet was present in the victim’s body.
Over the course of their extensive investigation, including review of evidence, investigators have determined the accident was the result of a shooting.
The investigation into this incident remains active and ongoing. To preserve its integrity, no further details will be released at this time.
