Advisory

Wednesday 10/18/23 at 12:10 p.m., Cornell University to conduct tests of its Emergency Mass Notification (EMN) Systems.

Dear Ithaca Campus Community,
On Wednesday, October 18th, 2023, beginning at 12:10 p.m., Cornell University will conduct tests of its Emergency Mass Notification (EMN) Systems. Tests will include notifications sent through voice and text messaging, email, CUView digital screens, Cornell’s Facebook account, Cornell’s Twitter feed, and by sirens and public address systems.
Cornell is committed to protecting the health and safety of its students, faculty and staff. Emergency procedures are designed to alert authorities and the campus community when an emergency occurs and to provide instructions for any necessary response.
EMN systems are critical for emergency response. To stay informed during an emergency, all Cornell community members are strongly encouraged to opt in to receive alerts either via text or voice messages. Additionally, you should confirm that your emergency contact information is on file with the Cornell University Police in the event of an emergency. Please do so using the following method:
https://emergencynotification.cornell.edu/
Expect to receive a text message and/or voice message to confirm your enrollments. If you have any questions, please contact Andrew Churchman at 607-255-8566 or [email protected] or Mark Conrad at 607-255-4676 or [email protected] with the Cornell University Department of Public Safety .
Sincerely,
