Suspect Identified and Arrested for Vehicle Burglaries; Investigators Believe Additional Victims May Exist

INCIDENT: P.C. 459 Burglary, P.C. 484G Theft Use of Access Card, P.C. 496D(A) Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, P.C. 30305(A)(1) Felon in Possession of Ammunition, V.C. 10851(A) Vehicle Theft 

LOCATION: 100 Block of North State Highway 138, Crestline, Ca. 92325

SUSPECT(S):  Dustin Schneider (30) Resident of Yucaipa 
                                              

VICTIM(S): Confidential


SUMMARY: 
On October 9, 2023, at approximately 09:05 A.M., the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station received a call for service regarding a vehicle burglary near the 100 block of North State Highway 138 in Crestline. During the investigation, other vehicle burglaries were reported throughout the mountain area. 

Victims and their neighbors provided Twin Peaks deputies with surveillance of the unknown suspect and suspect vehicle used during the commission of the crimes. Deputies positively identified the suspect in the footage provided as Dustin Schneider. 

On October 12, 2023, detectives from the Twin Peaks Station located Schneider and the vehicle used in his crimes, in the city of San Bernardino. During Schneider's arrest, detectives located stolen property in his possession. The white Subaru he was driving was reported stolen out of Moreno Valley and was recovered. 

Schneider was found to be out of custody on his own recognizance. Schneider was booked into Central Detention Center for P.C. 459 Burglary, P.C. 484G Theft Use of Access Card, P.C. 496D(A) Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, P.C. 30305(A)(1) Felon in Possession of Ammunition, V.C. 10851(A) Vehicle Theft).

We are thankful for the public's cooperation and assistance in identifying Schneider.
