SUSPECT: Darren Eugene Cooper, 61-years-old, resident of Riverside
SUMMARY: Darren Eugene Cooper is a registered sex offender and, by law, is required to provide truthful and accurate information when registering with law enforcement.
In September 2023, Central Station detectives received information Cooper was falsifying personal information on his registration documents. Through the investigation, detectives discovered several entries that were not accurate and were misleading. The misleading entries encompassed multiple registration documents over the course of 18 months.
On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, Cooper was taken into custody, without incident, while at the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Central Station. Cooper was booked at the Central Detention Center in lieu of $40,000.00 bail. The investigation was forwarded to the Office of the District Attorney for review and filing.
