Three Morongo Parents Issued Citations After Causing a Disruption at a Local Elementary School

SUSPECT(S): Saunoa Asuega, 40 year-old resident of Twentynine Palms
Faalai Faumui, 41 year-old resident of Twentynine Palms
Olga Lemoata, 24 year-old resident of Twentynine Palms
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Monday, October 16, 2023, at approximately 3:00 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station responded to a fight at the Oasis Elementary School, located at 73175 El Paseo Drive, in Twentynine Palms. When deputies arrived, the fight had concluded and all involved parents were no longer on school grounds.
School Resource Officers conducted an investigation and reviewed video footage. The review revealed, the persons involved were parents of students enrolled within the Morongo Unified School District. The fight ultimately caused the normal function of school activities to halt and prevented egress and safe pick-up of students. Following the incident, Saunoa Asuega, Faalai Faumui, and Olga Lemoata were identified as participants of the incident. Asuega, Faumui, and Lemoata were issued citations for violation of Education Code 32210- Willful School Disruption.
