The Village’s 2021 Comprehensive Plan recognized that there would likely be pressure to redevelop the commercial corridor along University Avenue over the next 10-20 years and recommended the Village create a plan to manage any proposed redevelopment projects. Over the past 6-8 months, the Plan Commission has done the work to create a draft University Avenue Corridor Plan.
 
The Plan Commission and Board of Trustees will have a joint meeting on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 to conduct the required public hearing to allow the University Avenue Corridor Plan to be adopted as an amendment to the 2021 Comprehensive Plan. It will be an appendix added to the Comprehensive Plan, much like the other neighborhood plans already existing as appendices.
 
Residents and interested parties are encouraged to attend the public hearing to provide comments. The agenda for the meeting is attached and you can review the draft University Avenue Corridor Plan and associated materials on the Village’s website at https://www.shorewood-hills.org/univavedesign.
