Sheriff Richard J. Behnke, reports that on 10/19/2023 at approximately 1715 hours his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash near the intersection of Marcellus Highway and Decatur Rd., in Volinia Township, Cass County Michigan. 
Investigation shows that 73-year-old, Schoolcraft, MI resident, Michael Winchester was traveling eastbound on Marcellus Highway. When Mr. Winchester then proceeded into the intersection of Decatur Rd., a silver minivan traveling northbound pulled into the roadway in front of Winchester causing a crash. Mr. Winchester did not sustain injuries from the crash, but his passenger, 70-year-old Schoolcraft, MI resident, Sally Winchester, sustained minor injuries from the crash.  Sally Winchester was transported to Bronson Memorial Hospital for her injuries. The driver of the silver minivan fled the scene after the crash.
