Upcoming County Paving Diamond Spring Road

NOTIFICATION OF MILLING & PAVING
Re: Morris County Road Improvement Project

Please be advised that milling and paving work for Diamond Spring Road is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023. This work is expected to take 2 days to complete, weather conditions permitting, and will be implemented in phases in an attempt to minimize any inconvenience. The road work is scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day.
On day one (10/24), Diamond Spring Road will be closed to all northbound traffic from Broadway to River Road, while southbound traffic will be allowed to flow normally.  If you need to access any of the facilities on Pocono Road (St. Clare’s Hospital, The Oaks, etc.), you will need to do so from the Boulevard in Mountain Lakes (access from Route 46).  If you need to access any of the facilities along Diamond Spring Road (Valleyview School, Celebrate the Children School, St. Peter’s Orphange, etc.), or a residence in this area, you will need to access Diamond Spring Road via River Road (Route 46, to the Boulevard in Mountain Lakes, to Pocono Road, to Old Boonton Road, to Bush Road and to River Road).  You will not be able to access Diamond Spring Road from Broadway or any adjoining side street on the northbound side.
On day two (10/25), Diamond Spring Road will be closed southbound from River Road to Broadway, while northbound traffic will be allowed to flow normally.  There will be a detour in place diverting southbound traffic to River Road, to Bush Road, to Old Boonton Road and to Pocono Road.  You will not be able to access Diamond Spring Road from Broadway or any adjoining side street on the southbound side.
Each day, traffic will be allowed to utilize the roadway once the new pavement has cured.  This timing is contingent on numerous different factors and no specific timeline can be provided.  When driving through the milling/paving work zone on the opened side of the road, please continue to use extreme caution as equipment and workers may be immediately adjacent to or temporarily in the opened section of roadway.
The milling and paving will be conducted simultaneously.  There will be temporary signage as well as detours and officers on scene to assist motorists, please obey all road closed signs and follow any detour signs.  Also, please note that any inclement weather or unforeseen conditions may cause delays to this schedule. If a schedule change occurs, you will be advised by an additional notice from the Denville Police Department.
We greatly appreciate your assistance and cooperation, and more importantly, your patience during this lengthy project. We understand the amount of disruption you have endured since its beginning and will be doing our best to limit any inconvenience as the project is completed. The end result will be well worth it. If you have any questions or comments regarding this project or notice, please contact Sergeant Rick Duda of the Special Services Bureau at 973-627-4900 ext. 373 or via e-mail at [email protected].
