Yorktown Police advise motorists that on Saturday, October 28, 2023 between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm the Yorktown Lions Club will be sponsoring a Halloween Costume Parade.
To provide for safety of parade participants and spectators the following roadways will be closed temporarily to accommodate this event:
1. Commerce Street @ Downing Drive
2. Hanover Street @ Commerce Street
3. Commerce Street between Veterans Rd and Downing Drive
4. Veterans Road between Commerce Street and Maple Hill Street.
Veterans Road may remain closed beyond 3:00 pm between Commerce St. and Maple Hill Street. Yorktown Police will accommodate motorists who need to access the Albert A. Capellini Community Cultural Center for early election voting, however vehicular access to the rear parking lot will be restricted while the parade is in progress. While the parade is in progress, early voters may park in the AACCCC parking lot on Commerce St., the parking lot immediately east of the Yorktown Stage, or in the Acme parking lot and walk up the stairs to the Jack A. DeVito Memorial Field.
