Deputies Respond to Suspected Fentanyl Overdose Administering Narcan to Reverse the Effect of the Drug

LOCATION: 6300 Block of Mojave Avenue, Twentynine Palms
SUSPECT(S): N/A
VICTIM(S): 21-year-old female resident of Twentynine Palms
SUMMARY: On Friday, October 20, 2023, at approximately 1:54 a.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station responded to a possible drug overdose in the 6300 block of Mojave Avenue, in the city of Twentynine Palms. Upon arrival, deputies located a female subject in the garage. The female was unresponsive due to a suspected fentanyl overdose.
Immediately after identifying symptoms consistent with Fentanyl overdose, deputies administered two doses of Nasal Naloxone (Narcan). The administration of Narcan reversed the effects of the overdose and the female regained consciousness. San Bernardino County Fire Department and Morongo Basin Ambulance arrived at the residence and stabilized the female, who was transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center (HDMC) for further treatment.
