POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING AND HOMICIDE
HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – October 24th, 2023 – Just before midnight on October 23rd, Hollister Police officers responded to the 1000 block of Monterey Street regarding a shooting victim. The adult male victim died at the scene.
Around 11:44 pm last night, Hollister Police officers responded to the report of a shooting victim in the 1000 block of Monterey St. When officers arrived, they encountered one adult male shooting victim who was not conscious and not breathing. The subject had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Our officers attempted lifesaving measures and turned the medical care of the victim over to Hollister Fire Department personnel, and medical personnel from American Medical Response. The subject was later pronounced dead.
Our Investigations Bureau was notified and responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. The incident has been determined to be a homicide.
Witness interviews reveal that around the time of the shooting, several male subjects were seen fleeing the scene. If you saw anything, or live in the area and believe you have relevant footage from security cameras, please contact our department at the numbers below.
