Lock it or Lose it - Keep Your Belongings Safe!

Attention, Haledon residents! On behalf of Mayor Michael Johnson and Chief of Police Angelo J. Daniele, we want to remind you of the importance of securing your belongings and taking precautions to prevent opportunity crimes. The Haledon Police Department is committed to keeping our community safe, but we need your help too! Here are some valuable tips to protect yourself and your property.

1️⃣ Hide Your Belongings: When leaving your vehicle, make sure to conceal any valuable items out of sight. Lock them in your trunk or take them with you. Don't let your belongings entice potential thieves!

2️⃣ Lock Your Vehicles: Always lock your car doors, even if you're only stepping away for a moment. This simple step can deter opportunistic criminals looking for easy targets.

3️⃣ Take Your Key Fobs: Never leave your key fob inside your parked vehicle, even if it's within your property. Thieves can exploit this to gain unauthorized access. Take your key fobs with you to ensure the security of your vehicle.

By following these precautions, you can help reduce the possibility of becoming a victim of theft or burglary.

Remember, we are here for you 24/7, but it's vital for us to work together to maintain a safe community. If you see any suspicious activity, do not hesitate to contact the Haledon Police Department immediately.

Let's make Haledon a place where opportunity crimes are a thing of the past! Stay vigilant, stay safe, and keep your belongings secure.
