* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Crockett, Irion, Schleicher and Sutton.
* WHEN...Until 815 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 508 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Ozona, Barnhart, The Intersection Of I-10 And Highway 405, The Intersection Of Us 190 And Highway 163, The Intersection Of I-10 And Highway 290, The Intersection Of Highway 163 And Ranch Road 1973, The Intersection Of Ranch Road 2083 And Highway 405, I-10 Near The Crockett-Sutton County Line, Us-190 Near The Crockett-Sutton County Line, Ft Lancaster and I-10 Near The Crockett-Pecos County Line. - This includes Interstate 10 between Mile Markers 328 and 381. Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
