| Narrative: |
On 10/15/2023, at approximately 09:48 a.m., deputies responded to the area of Kimber Drive and Baxter Street in the city of Thousand Oaks reference an injury traffic collision. Deputies on scene later determined that a juvenile driver was traveling eastbound on Kimber Drive when the vehicle drifted into the bike lane and struck a pedestrian who was walking in the bicycle lane. The juvenile driver also collided into the rear of a parked vehicle along the north curb line of the road. Sheriff’s Office and medical personnel responded, and attempted life saving measures, but ultimately pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department Traffic Bureau. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Senior Deputy Marcos Moreno at (805) 494-8245.
