Advisory

Diamond Spring Road Paving 10/26

Unfortunately, the Diamond Spring Road paving project could not be completed on its original time table.  As a result, additional work requiring both northbound and southbound lane closures will take place tomorrow, Thursday, October 26th

Beginning at approximately 6:30 a.m., the southbound lane of Diamond Spring Road will be closed to all traffic between Broadway and Pocono Road in order for the remaining section of the southbound lane to be paved.  Northbound traffic will not be affected during this time.  Traffic attempting to access Denville center or beyond from the northern end of town will need to utilize Pocono Road to the Boulevard to Route 46 or Morris Avenue to Savage Road to Route 46.  In addition, no traffic will be allowed to access Diamond Spring Road from Orchard Street and Riverside Drive, as well as any private parking lots along the western side of the roadway, while the southbound lane is closed.

Once the work on the southbound lane is completed, estimated to be sometime around noon, the northbound lane of Diamond Spring Road will be closed to all traffic between Morris Avenue and River Road in order for the remaining section of the northbound lane to be paved.  Limited local traffic will be able to access addresses up to #207, which is just south of the Celebrate the Children school, but will not be permitted any further north of this area.  Traffic attempting to access the northern section of Diamond Spring Road or beyond should utilize Pocono Road to Old Boonton Road to Powerville Road to Valley Road or Morris Avenue to Green Pond Road to Meriden Road to Old Beach Glen Road to Farber Hill Road.  During this time, southbound traffic will not be affected.  The contractor believes that the work will be completed in time to allow for the normal flow of traffic to/from the Celebrate the Children school for the end of day buses and family pickup.

If you normally drive through this area, you should expect delays or plan an alternate route.  If driving through the work zone on the open side of the roadway, please use extreme caution as equipment and workers may be immediately adjacent to or temporarily in the opened section of roadway.  There will be multiple police officers in the area to assist and direct traffic as needed.

We greatly appreciate your continued patience and cooperation while this project is being completed.  If you have any questions regarding this notice, please contact Sergeant Rick Duda of the Denville Police Department at 973-627-4900 extension 373 or via e-mail at [email protected]
