LOCATION: Morongo Unified School District - 5715 Utah Trail, Twentynine Palms, CA 92277
INVOLVED PARTY(S): Adult Male, Resident of Twentynine Palms
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at approximately 8:00 a.m., the Morongo Unified School District received information of a man who attempted to contact children to give them Pokemon cards. The Morongo Unified School District notified the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s School Resource Officers of the information and an investigation was conducted.
It was determined the man had not contacted any children, nor made an appearance at any district school site. The man advertised to give away Pokemon cards for free if parents wanted them for their children, via Facebook. The Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station and the Morongo Unified School District continue to work together to ensure the safety of the district’s students, staff, and parents.
