Ragamuffin parade reminder; COVID-19 & flu vaccine clinic scheduled

REMINDER: Join the Ragamuffin Parade on Oct. 31

Celebrate Halloween with the City of Hoboken on Tuesday, Oct. 31, by joining the annual Ragamuffin Parade!

The parade lineup begins at 3:15 p.m. on 13th Street and Washington Street. The parade will start at 4 p.m. down Washington Street to Fifth Street. The parade will turn east on Fifth Street ending at the Hoboken Little League Field. Due to declining attendance rates in previous years, the City will not host a costume contest this year, and instead host a family-friendly Halloween celebration at Stevens Park with music, games, and more.

Special guests this year include Funny Factory Clown Band, Ron Albanese AKA Polka Dot, Elvis “The King,” Hoboken High School Rockin' Redwings Marching Band, and more!

Due to the parade, vehicular traffic will be diverted. NJ Transit buses will run on an alternate route during the parade. Northbound buses will leave Hoboken Terminal, travel west on Observer Highway, and north on Bloomfield Street. Southbound buses will travel east on 14th Street and south on Hudson Street.

The Hoboken Police Department reminds drivers to reduce their speed, be alert for trick-or-treaters, turn on headlights, and stop before crosswalks. The City of Hoboken does not permit block parties on Halloween, and reminds residents to walk on sidewalks and to cross only in crosswalks. Avoid gathering, walking, or crowding in the streets. Officers will be forced to close streets when too many pedestrians create a safety hazard for themselves, and for drivers.

City of Hoboken and Medicine Man Pharmacy to host flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics

The City of Hoboken and Medicine Man Pharmacy will host joint vaccine clinics on Thursday, Nov. 2, and Monday, Nov. 6, to provide residents with updated COVID-19 and flu vaccines that target new variants ahead of the winter season.

Pfizer and Moderna covid vaccines are available to residents five years old and up. The seasonal flu vaccine is available to residents 12 and up. Be advised, there are limited flu vaccines available for uninsured patients. Appointments are strongly encouraged. Walk-in appointments are available, but not guaranteed.

“I encourage all eligible residents to get their updated vaccines ahead of the colder winter months,” said Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla. “This is one of the best ways to protect ourselves and keep our families healthy and safe during the height of flu and covid season.”

The clinics will be held at 605 Jackson St. between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, and between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6. Make an appointment online at: https://www.medicinemanrx.com/vaccination-testing. For more information or assistance, email: [email protected]
