Hoboken Recycling Center relocates; Garbage container distribution announced; Attend the next CAPS forum

We've moved!

The City's Recycling Center and Public Works Facility has officially moved to 1501 Madison St. The Recycling Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

For more information on the City's recycling programs and initiatives, go to www.hobokennj.gov/recycling. To contact the City's recycling coordinator, email [email protected] with any questions.

Garbage container distribution to continue next week

The City will continue container distribution next week to help residents in need of a garbage container with a tight-fitting lid.

Distribution will be first-come, first-served on the following dates while supplies last:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 8. – 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. – Multi Service Center hockey rink, 124 Grand St.
  • Thursday, Nov. 9.  – 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. – Multi Service Center hockey rink, 124 Grand St.

Registered agents must bring a copy of their management contract agreement.

Each property can take up to three containers per address.

Residents must bring proof of residency, which may include a utility bill, signed lease, or license.

As a reminder, residents who already have a container with a tight-fitting lid do not need to acquire a new container. The new regulation also has no effect on recycling or bulk/ furniture pick-up.

Property owners or the responsible agent of a property that has 10 or fewer units with space constraints can apply for a 1-year exemption to containerize garbage online at https://hoboken.seamlessdocs.com/f/containerization_exemption.
