Update
The Five Points intersection is now clear however, please continue to avoid North Franklin and West Centerway.

The Janesville Police Department is asking citizens to avoid the area of West Centerway from North River St. to West Court St. (5 Points) for a train derailment.  Please use an alternate route to avoid traffic delays and congestion. 

There are no injuries and the rail company is working on clearing these areas as quickly as possible.  The cause of the derailment is unknown at this time and the rail company is looking into it.  Nothing suspicious is suspected at this time. 

We will provide additional information when it is available and when the blockage is removed.
