SUSPECT(S): Genasea Portillo, 21-Year-Old, Resident of Yucca Valley
VICTIM(S): 3-Year-Old Juvenile, 38-Year-Old Female, Residents of Yucca Valley
SUMMARY: On Friday, October 27, 2023, at approximately 11:03 p.m., deputies assigned to the town of Yucca Valley responded to the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Kickapoo Trail, reference a single vehicle traffic collision where a driver lost control of a vehicle which subsequently rolled into a ditch. A 38-year-old passenger of the vehicle was ejected, and transported to Desert Regional Medical Center for moderate injuries and was later discharged.
Genasea Portillo was responsible for the care and well-being of a 3-year-old juvenile in the vehicle and was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the traffic collision. Portillo was arrested and booked at the Central Detention Center for CVC23153(A), CVC23153(B), and PC273A(A), with bail set at $250,000.
