On November 1, 2023 at 3:56 AM, a Simi Valley Police Officer observed a vehicle travelling in the area of Eve Rd. and Tapo St. with no lights on. He attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle driver refused and fled the area.

Officers pursued the vehicle at slow speeds through the residential area and eventually eastbound onto Alamo St. As the Vehicle proceeded southbound onto Yosemite Ave, an additional SVPD Officer was attempting to deploy a spike strip at the SR 118 eastbound on ramp when the suspect vehicle collided with his patrol car, causing minor damage. The suspect, a 23 year old male from Northridge, exited his vehicle and became confrontational with Officers but was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was arrested and booked for Driving under the influence and evading a Police Officer. There were no injuries during this incident.
