Traffic Violation Leads to Firearm Arrest 
On November 2, 2023, at 0238 hours, a Simi Valley Police Officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Los Angeles Ave and Alscot Ave in Simi Valley.
During the stop, the Officer learned the driver, 34-year-old Farhad Payind from Woodland Hills, was currently on probation with search terms. During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered a loaded handgun.
Payind was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance while armed, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and booked at the Ventura County Jail.
