HALEDON AWARDED $250,000.00 FEDERAL GRANT
TO HIRE ADDITIONAL POLICE OFFICERS

Haledon – The Borough of Haledon is thrilled to announce that our grant application for the hiring of two (2) police officers has been approved by the Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. This grant, totaling $250,000 over a three-year period, signifies a significant investment in our community by the federal government and will allow us to enhance our community policing initiatives. On behalf of the Governing Body of the Borough of Haledon, we would like to extend our deepest appreciation to Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. from the 9th Congressional District for his unwavering support and commitment to securing this funding for our community.

This grant is a testament to the tireless work of our team and their dedication to keeping Haledon a safe place to live and raise a family. Our department is committed to community-oriented policing, and these additional officers will enhance our ability to engage with residents, address their concerns, and build stronger relationships that foster a sense of belonging and security. Moreover, the addition of the two new officers will bolster Haledon's police force, enabling the department to allocate more resources towards community policing. Establishing meaningful connections with residents, businesses, and community organizations will be a top priority as they work to create a safer, more united environment for all.

Mayor Michael Johnson emphasized, "This grant is a clear reflection of the collaborative efforts of our dedicated law enforcement personnel, under the leadership of Chief Angelo J. Daniele. We will take proactive steps towards enhancing safety, addressing community concerns, and maintaining positive relationships between our officers and residents. We are proud to serve a community that actively supports and believes in our mission."

Expressing gratitude for this achievement, Chief of Police Angelo J. Daniele added, "We are immensely grateful to the Department of Justice and Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. for delivering this grant. I commend Deputy Chief of Police George Guzman, Jr. for his meticulous work on the initial grant application. With this funding secured, we can expand our efforts to strengthen the bond between our police department and the community we proudly serve. This will undoubtedly contribute to better safety, maintained trust, and enhanced overall quality of life for the residents of Haledon."
