A controlled burn along Big Rock Ridge in northern Marin is expected to release smoke that will be in full view from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Marin County Fire Department asks the community to refrain from calling 9-1-1 if they see smoke from the burn area.
The 100+ acre operation is a fire fuel reduction effort to assist with mitigating furture fire risk. Fire agencies take extra precautions by checking the weather hourly along with coordinating with the National Weather Service.
