Sheriff’s Employees Grow Facial Hair in Support of Non-Profits

Nature of Incident: Sheriff’s Employees Grow Facial Hair in Support of Non-Profits
Location: Ventura County, California
Date & Time: The entire month of November 2023
Unit(s) Responsible: Ventura County Sheriff’s Office

Narrative:
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office participates in “No Shave November” to raise awareness and support local non-profit organizations.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is proud to participate in No Shave November to raise awareness and support for local non-profit organizations. During the month of November, you may notice some of our deputies looking a little scruffy and growing out their beards. Those participating will donate the money they would have spent on shaving and grooming to support local charities.  Our hope is that each donation is a minimum of $100!

This year, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is supporting the Ventura County Sheriff’s Foundation Mounted and K9 Training Facility, California Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation (Honoring Our Fallen Heroes), and the California Narcotic Officers’ Association (on behalf of the CNOA Survivors Memorial Fund). These organizations work tirelessly to support our community and we are honored to support them through the No Shave November campaign.

“This is a great opportunity for us to raise awareness and show our support for these amazing organizations,” said Sheriff Jim Fryhoff. “We encourage everyone to participate and help us make a difference in our community.”

Whether it’s a tiny mustache, a goatee, or a full-blown beard, anyone can participate and make a difference in our community. All deputies will be fully shaven by December 1st. To learn more about the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and our support for local non-profit organizations, visit our website or follow us on social media.

For those interested in donating to non-profits that support the surviving family members of fallen officers, please click on any link below.  Or perhaps some would prefer to make a donation in support of our four-legged friends in the Sheriff’s Mounted and K9 Units for the joint training facility that is going to be built on the grounds of the Todd Road Jail.  The Ventura County Sheriff’s Foundation is spearheading fundraising efforts for that project.
