Tewksbury Township Police Investigate Swatting Incident 
On 11/6/2023 at approximately 9:44 AM the Tewksbury Township Police received a phone call from a person reporting that two people were shot at a residence in the 200 block of County Route 517.
Due to the close proximity of the Tewksbury Township Schools, both schools were placed on lockdown.
Tewksbury Officers as well as mutual aid officers from neighboring municipalities responded to the residence and determined the call to be false. The school lockdown was then lifted.
It is believed that the call was a "swatting" incident. A "swatting” incident is a false call to police reporting a serious incident to elicit a significant response from police and other emergency services.
The Tewksbury Township Police take these "swatting" incidents seriously and this incident remains under investigation.
