Election Day is tomorrow; Municipal offices closed; Cheer camp registration opens

Tomorrow, Nov. 7, is Election Day and on the ballot in Hoboken are the following races: 32nd Legislative District State Senate, State Assembly, Hudson County Executive, Hudson County Commissioner, Hoboken City Council Wards, and the Hoboken Board of Education. 

Voters may choose up to three candidates for the Hoboken Board of Education.

Cast your ballot 

Residents can cast their ballot at their registered polling place on Tuesday, Nov. 7. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters who have previously requested a Vote-By-Mail (VBM) ballot should have received their ballot from the Hudson County Clerk. 

There are three ways voters can submit their completed VBM ballot: 

  1. Voters can return their VBM ballot by placing it in the nearest mailbox using the U.S. Postal Service. The ballot must be postmarked on or before Nov. 7 and received by the Board of Elections.  
  2. There are also three secure ballot drop box locations in Hoboken where voters can drop off their VBM ballot; (1) Hoboken City Hall at 94 Washington St. on Newark Street, (2) the Stevens University Gateway Building at Hudson Street and Sixth Street, (3) Monroe Street between Seventh and Eighth Streets. Voters must submit their VBM ballot in a secure drop box on or before 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7.  
  3. Voters can also return their mail-in ballot in person to the Hudson County Board of Elections Office by 8 p.m. on, Tuesday, Nov. 7. The Hudson County Board of Elections Office is located at Hudson County Plaza, 257 Cornelison Avenue, 4th Floor, Jersey City, NJ 07302. NOTE: VBM ballots CANNOT be returned to ANY early voting location or polling place.  

Voters can track the progress of their ballot by signing into their personal New Jersey Voter Registration System account at https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/auth/sign-up.

Municipal offices closed & street cleaning suspended 

Municipal offices will be closed tomorrow, Nov. 7, in observance of Election Day.

Street cleaning will be suspended. All other parking rules and regulations will remain in effect. 

The Senior Hop shuttle service will operate on its regular route. All other Hop service is suspended tomorrow. 

Register for cheer camp

Cheer Dynamics, Hoboken’s award-winning cheerleading program, is opening enrollment today for three upcoming camp events. Participants will enjoy tumbling, arts and crafts, and other activities in a fun-filled environment at the Multi-Service Center gym, 124 Grand St.

Camps will be offered for children ages 4 to 14 on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 17,  from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday, Dec. 16 from 12 p.m to 3 p.m.
