INCIDENT: VC 2800.2: FAILURE TO YIELD
LOCATION: State Highway 18/ Orchard Drive, Lucerne Valley
SUSPECT: Devin Williams, 27 years-old, resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On Saturday, November 4, 2023, Deputy Konior attempted a traffic stop on a Ford Explorer with no license plates on State Highway 18, near Orchard Drive, in Lucerne Valley.
The vehicle yielded, and when Deputy Konior exited his vehicle, the suspect vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle drove north on Joshua Road, and out into the dry lakebed. California High Patrol Helicopter H-80 responded to assist. The suspect, later identified as Devin Williams, circled back around to the area of Sherwood Street and Cajon Street where he turned off all the vehicle lights. Deputy Konior, with the assistance of H-80, located the vehicle and Williams was taken into custody without incident.
Devin Williams was booked at High Desert Detention Center in lieu of $100,000.00 bail. He was later released on bail.
