On Friday, November 3, 2023 at approximately 2320 hours, the Readington Township Police stopped Richard Sabella  (63) out of Toms River, NJ on Route 202 for failing to maintain his lane and tailgating. While the officer was speaking to Sabella he smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the interior of the vehicle. Sabella failed the officers field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Sabella was charged with DWI and issued a motor vehicle summons for Reckless Driving, Fail to Maintain Lane, Tailgating and Refusal To Submit Chemical Breath Testing. The filing of charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
