Tuesday, November 7^th – pile burning will take place today in the Country Club Drive area of Novato. The piles are located along Fairway Drive between Wentworth Lane and Nassau Court. Smoke will be visible from 10am to 4pm. Those passing through or living in the area may see or smell smoke. Please refrain from calling 9-1-1 to report smoke from the burn piles.
 
This project is part of the Greater Novato Shaded Fuel Break and a coordinated effort between Marin County Fire and Marin County Parks Open Space with input from the Novato Fire District Vegetation Management Specialists. Pile burning is a great way to reduce the biomass of debris that accumulates as hand thinning occurs in the project area. This type of fuel reduction helps firefighters proactively protect our neighborhoods and communities.
