Deputy Matthew Smith with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team charged 47-year-old Ann Marie Hardy Washington with felonious Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, felonious Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance and felonious Maintaining a Dwelling for a Controlled Substance. Washington was issued a $20,000 secured bond.
On July 24th, deputies were patrolling the area of Sugar Hill Rd in Marion and initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic violations. A search of the vehicle turned up yellow pills. They were sent to the State Crime Lab for analysis and the results determined them to be fentanyl.
