Press Release: Car stopped for speeding leads to arrest for obstruction and resisting arrest.

ACCUSED: Dontavais Mitchell, Age 39, Neptune, NJ
NARRATIVE:
On November 8, 2023, at approximately 10:00am, Patrolwoman Jenifer Velasquez was conducting stationary radar enforcement on Grassmere Ave in the Borough of Interlaken. Upon observing a speeding violation, Ptlw Velasquez conducted a motor vehicle stop on the Main Street bridge. The accused refused to provide any information to the officers involved and was ultimately removed from the vehicle and arrested.
The accused was transported to Deal Police Headquarters for processing and charging. The accused was found to be a wanted person out of Monmouth County and was found to have multiple arrest warrants out of Brielle, Ocean Township, and Neptune Township. The accused was subsequently charged with obstruction, resisting arrest, speeding, driving without a license, failure to produce documents and driving with a suspended license. The accused was turned over to Monmouth County Sheriff and committed to Monmouth County Jail pending a court date.
