Driver Hit a Pedestrian and Dog, Fled Scene and Later Arrested
 
A driver hit a pedestrian and dog before fleeing the scene in the vehicle.  Officers later located and arrested the driver. 
 
San Mateo, CA – On November 10, 2023, at 3:26 p.m., the San Mateo Police Department arrested a man in connection with a felony hit and run.  The suspect, Armen Grigorian, had hit a pedestrian while walking his daughter’s dog earlier this morning with his vehicle, then fled the scene of the crime.
 
At 8:31 a.m., San Mateo Police Department received a 911 call about a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle.  Officers immediately responded to the intersection of 42nd Avenue and Edison Street and located the victim lying in the middle of the intersection.  The victim had sustained injuries and was bleeding.  Officer provided medical aid to the victim.  Emergency medical services were immediately dispatched, and the victim was transported to a local trauma center for treatment.  The victim is currently in stable condition.
 
The victim was walking his daughter’s dog and the dog, “Lola,” died at the scene.    
 
When officers arrived, Grigorian had already fled the scene.  During the initial investigation, officers walked door to door in the neighborhood trying to locate video footage of the crime.  Officers were able to determine Grigorian had been driving a white Toyota Tacoma.  Officers later located Grigorian and his truck in San Carlos.  Grigorian was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail.

Armen Grigorian, 31-year-old San Mateo resident.
CHARGES:
20001(a) CVC- Hit and Run resulting in an injury.
20002(a)(1) CVC- Hit and Run resulting in property damage.
