KCSO Conducts Narcotics Investigation in Bakersfield
On November 8, 2023, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Kern County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force (KC-HIDTA) concluded a narcotics investigation with the execution of search warrants at three (3) residential houses found to be associated with Francisco Beltran (age 47) of Durango, Mexico.
During the investigation, Francisco Beltran was located and arrested for an active federal arrest warrant, which was obtained by agents from the DEA-Bakersfield Office. During the investigation and execution of one of the search warrants, Delia Reyes, (age 36) of Bakersfield was found to be an associate of Franscico Beltran and was an off-duty Arvin Police Department sergeant. Francisco Beltran was found in possession of law enforcement equipment and a firearm reported stolen to the Bakersfield Police Department. Delia Reyes was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance while in possession of several firearms. Delia Reyes was evaluated and later arrested. The Arvin Police Department responded and placed Reyes on administrative leave during this investigation.
During the investigation, evidence of steroid possession from an off-duty Bakersfield Police Department Officer, Deangelo Sanchez (age 26) of Dinuba was located. Sanchez was a roommate of Reyes. Sanchez was not at the residence at the time of the search warrant. The investigation is ongoing, and charges will be submitted to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office for review.
Agents from the DEA-Bakersfield office and officers from Kern County Probation Department assisted the KC-HIDTA Task Force in the investigation.
Francisco Beltran and Delia Reyes were both booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Lerdo Justice Facility for various narcotics and weapon violations.
