Three Teens Arrested for Robbery After Stealing Merchandise and Assaulting a Loss Prevention Officer

SUMMARY: On Saturday, November 11, 2023, at approximately 7:33 p.m., deputies responded to a call for service reference a theft in progress at Macy’s located at 12501 S. Mainstreet, in the city of Rancho Cucamonga.
During the investigation, it was determined that the suspects selected merchandise from Macy’s and exited the store without paying for the items. The suspects were contacted by Macy’s Loss Prevention Officers. During the contact, one of the juvenile suspects shoved and punched a Loss Prevention Officer in the face.
All three suspects were arrested, and the merchandise was recovered. The estimated total value of merchandise stolen was approximately $1,000.00.
The two juveniles were arrested and booked at the San Bernardino Juvenile Hall. Angel Verdugo was arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center for robbery.
