911 report of shots fired leads to arrest of Patoka man.

On November 13, 2023, at 9:57 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of shots being fired into a residence.  Deputy Michael Owens and Sergeant Loren Barchett were dispatched to the scene and upon arriving on scene observed several bullet holes in a window and down the side of the residence located in the 5000 block of North 180 West near Patoka.  At that point Deputy Owens opened an investigation into the incident where multiple witnesses identified the shooter as 42 year old Jason Brubaker of Patoka.  Deputy Owens and Sgt. Barchett located Mr. Brubaker and applied for a search warrant for his residence to investigate the crime of Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon.  Upon securing the warrant multiple weapons were secured as well as the firearm that was identified by the witnesses.  At the conclusion of his investigation Deputy Michael Owens had Deputy Bart Wagner transport Mr. Brubaker to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon and Criminal Mischief.  He remains in custody on a $1250 bond. 
 
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
