INCIDENT: Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition
LOCATION: 5100 Block of Avenida Del Sol, Joshua Tree
SUSPECT(S): Eduardo Eli Hernandez III, 43-year-old resident of Joshua Tree
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Monday, November 13, 2023, at approximately 4:30 p.m., with the assistance of the Sheriff's Specialized Enforcement Division (SED), Deputy L. Gonzalez and Detective A. Alcala served an arrest warrant for wanted subject, Eduardo Eli Hernandez. Hernandez was taken into custody without incident.
A records check of Hernandez showed he had an extreditable felony warrant out of Arizona for a weapons violation and a felony warrant for Penal Code 422-Criminal Threats. Hernandez is a convicted felon and prohibited from being in possession of firearms and ammunition. Gonzalez and Alcala susequently served a search warrant at Hernandez's residence, located in the 5100 Block of Avenida Del Sol in Joshua Tree. During the search, 14 firearms and ammunition were located and seized.
Hernandez was arrested for his felony warrants, Penal Code 29800(a)(1)-Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and PC 30305-Felon in Possession of Ammunition. Hernandez was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail.
