Prescribed pile burn TODAY in Novato area through Thursday. Visible smoke. 
A prescribed pile burn will take place TODAY, Wednesday November 15, through Thursday, November 16, in the Marin Valley Country Club area of Novato. Piles will be located between Marin Valley Drive and the St. Vincent property on Pacheco Hill. Smoke will be visible from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day. The burn piles are coordinated effort between Marin County Fire, the City of Novato, and the Novato Fire District Vegetation Management Specialists. The Novato Fire District kindly asks the community to refrain from calling 9-1-1 if they see smoke from the burn area.
This operation is part of the Greater Novato Shaded Fuel Break project aimed to mitigate future fire risk. Fire agencies take extra precautions by checking the weather hourly along with coordinating with the National Weather Service.
