High Wind Watch until 12:00AM Monday
* WHAT...South winds 50 to 60 mph with gusts up to 75 mph possible.
* WHERE...Central Aleutians and Western Aleutians.
* WHEN...From Saturday evening through Sunday evening.
* IMPACTS...High winds could move loose debris, damage property, and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A strong low will push a front across the western Aleutians, bringing southerly winds and heavy rain. As the front moves east, strong winds are likely for the central Aleutians, including Adak, but there is lower confidence on where the core of the strongest winds will be at this time. A second round of strong winds will also be possible for the western Aleutians during this timeframe.
* AFFECTED AREAS: CENTRAL ALEUTIANS ... WESTERN ALEUTIANS
Instructions:
A high wind watch means there is potential for a hazardous high wind event. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates on this situation. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe location prior to the onset of winds.
