LOCATION: Dollar General, 20834 Bear Valley Road, Apple Valley, CA
7-11, 21718 Bear Valley Road, Apple Valley, CA
SUSPECT(S): Lance Everett Miles, 40-year-old male of Apple Valley, CA
SUMMARY: On Saturday, November 4, 2023, at approximately 9:30 p.m., an employee at Dollar General, located at 20834 Bear Valley Road, reported a robbery. During the robbery a black male adult pointed a handgun at the employee and demanded cigarettes and money. Deputies investigated the robbery and forwarded the case to the detective division.
On Monday, November 13, 2023, at approximately 6:00 a.m., an employee at 7-11, located at 21718 Bear Valley Road, reported a robbery wherein a black male adult pointed a gun at the employee and demanded money.
Deputies Ryan Grissom and Tyler Loup, with Apple Valley Police’s Multiple Enforcement Team (MET), assumed the investigation. Deputies were able to identify the suspect in both robberies as Lance Miles. On Thursday, November 16, 2023, a search warrant was obtained for Miles’ residence.
Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division assisted Apple Valley Police detectives with the service of the search warrant on Thursday, November 16, 2023. During the service of the search warrant items confirming Miles as the suspect in the robberies were located.
Lance Miles was also found to be a convicted felon, and thus prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm. Miles was arrested and subsequently transported to High Desert Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of $135,000 bail.
