Enhanced fire danger today due to critical humidity levels and ongoing drought. Burn ban still in effect. Report all fires to 911.

From the National Weather Service:

A very dry air mass will remain in place over the region today. Critical relative humidity values in the 20s will develop this afternoon across the North Carolina Piedmont and portions of the northeast mountains, including the Burke, Caldwell, and McDowell mountains.

Low relative humidity, lack of recent rainfall, and dry fuels will contribute to enhanced fire danger, increasing the risk of wildfires developing and spreading quickly in these areas.
