The National Weather Service is forecasting up to two inches of rain for our area from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. The Department of Public Works will be monitoring known problem areas and continuing to clear stormwater drains throughout the day.

Residents are asked to ensure that any leaf piles in the road are in compliance with Town guidelines:

• Place leaves in narrow rows alongside the curb, while leaving space near the gutters for drainage.
• Do not place leaves within ten feet of any storm water inlet.

Significant rainfall may result in temporarily overcharged storm drains. This is not unusual, especially during leaf season, and typically the excess water dissipates after a short time. The Westfield Police and Fire Departments will also be monitoring road conditions.
