Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.
On November 14, at approximately 9:57 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 1100 block of Sycamore Street, when they observed a subject acting in a suspicious manner. Police attempted to make contact with 23-year-old Eddy Peguero who fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, Peguero was taken into custody without incident and police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun and 712 grams of marijuana.
Eddy Peguero has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $100,000 cash-only bail.
